Riding on Rohit Sharma's unbeaten 122 runs India won their opening match of the 2019 World Cup against South Africa by 6 wickets with 15 balls remaining at The Rose Bowl in Southampton, England. Earlier South Africa won the toss and chose to bat first in their third game of the tournament. India restricted South Africa to 227/9. Chris Morris scored the highest 42 runs for his side. Apart from him Faf du Plessis scored 38.
