Facebook co-founder: It's time to break up Facebook

Chris Hughes, the co-founder of Facebook, is calling for the company to be broken up.
In an op-ed in the New York Times on Thursday, Hughes argued that Facebook has become too powerful and influential "far beyond that of anyone else in the private sector or in government."
He said Mark Zuckerberg's competitive drive for growth has led the company to control an estimated 80 percent of the world's social network revenue.
Hughes is the latest of many prominent entrepreneurs and tech executives to call for stricter regulation of Facebook and other online platforms to better control data privacy, election meddling and the spread of misinformation.
