A team of ten Filipino women who work as domestic helpers in Hong Kong recently volunteered to spend a Sunday – their only day off – cleaning a beach near the city’s popular surfing destination Big Wave Bay. The group has signed up for the “Adventure Clean-up Challenge”, a one-month competition meant to encourage efforts to remove trash from Hong Kong Island coastal areas that are difficult to access.
