S. Korea top in terms of R&D spending to GDP in 2017, surpassing Israel for second time: Report

South Korea rose to the top of the world again.... in terms of the ratio of R&D spending to GDP in 2017,... surpassing that of Israel.
Citing the OECD's Main Science and Technology Indicators,... the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Evaluation and Planning.... and the Ministry of Science and ICT explained that.... South Korea's R&D intensity,... the expenditure on R&D as a percentage to the GDP stood at four-point-five-five percent.
Asia's fourth-largest economy outpaced Israel for the first time in 2013.... but Israel again topped the global ranking in 2015 and 2016.
But in 2017, with Korea having reclaimed the top spot.... Israel had the second highest R&D intensity in the world, followed by Switzerland.
