Gasoline prices in Korea have risen for a tenth straight week, …hitting a near five-month high.
According to the Korea National Oil Corporation, fuel prices nationwide averaged about one U.S. dollar and 24 cents a liter in the fourth week of April, …the highest since December.
Gas prices are expected to soar even more quickly in May, …with Washington's decision to end the waivers it had granted to sanctions on oil from Iran.
To ease the burden, the Korean government said it will extend its tax cut on fuel until the end of August.
