The AN/AVS-6 (ANVIS) goggle is a lightweight, helmet-mounted, an elite dual tube and a self-contained night vision system. It provides imagery sufficient for an aviator to complete night time missions down to starlight and extreme low light conditions. ANVIS goggles allow pilots to see at night, with its super high resolution and ultra lightweight. This goggle also allows pilots to navigate at the nap of the earth and offers the user total depth perception.
ANVIS goggle is mounted to a single point on the pilot's helmet visor guard. No facemask is required, this allowing nearly full peripheral vision. The goggle also offers state of the art Generation III night vision technology along with distortion free optics, high gain and superior performance at very low light levels. Precision night time weapons sighting
The ANVIS goggle is ideal for Street Gang Observation, S.W.A.T Close-Range Shotgun Manoeuvres, Counterterrorism, Drug Enforcement Covert work, Patrol and Security, Search and Rescue Operations, Night Pursuit, Firefighting, Boating Piloting and navigation, Paramedic Needs, Infrared Light-Source Detection, Hypersensitive Film Manufacture and Processing, Night Driving, Mining, Low-light Quality Control and Inspection.
The ANVIS system has dramatically extended the operational mission capability of helicopter crews. Pilots can now carry out search and rescue (SAR) along with nap-of-the-earth flights under moonlight or starlight. The primary features of the ANVIS include: MIL-spec. design and construction, normal peripheral vision, comfortable 25mm eye relief, low fatigue design, flip-up stowage when not in use, superior light sensitivity and quality, fast flash response, simple adjustments, fast critical situation breakaway, easy upgrade potential, and multiple system redundancy for safety. The system is designed to be fully compatible with the SPH-4 series of U.S. Army aviator's helmet and can be modified to fit foreign aviator helmets. The ANVIS series is designed to satisfy the mission requirements for covert night combat, border patrol, engagement and support, troop transport, reconnaissance, minesweeping, and navigation.

The Defense expo in Delhi held subsequently, is worlds seventh largest and Asia's largest Defence Expo in the series of biennial Land, Naval and Internal Security Systems Exhibition. The first exhibition was held in 1999 and subsequently in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010.The Department of Defence Production in the defence ministry is the organizing committee of the expo in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci). Some 567 global defence firms from 32 countries display weapon systems for the army, navy and also for internal security. It is a platform for suppliers, manufacturers, technology and services providers to get an opportunity for promoting and showcasing their products and services to the international defense industry. India is the largest importer of arms and ammunition in the world and exhibitors are practically falling over themselves to sell equipment. But perhaps the time has come to reverse that trend - to build equipment in India and export to the rest of the world.
