‘It could have been us’ – Hong Kong tourists recount Sri Lanka bombings

Hong Kong tourists Ryan Xu Xin and Annie Wu Li Chun were staying at the Shangri-La hotel in Colombo when a suicide bomber struck on Sunday, April 21. The attack was part of the first wave of bombings which targeted hotels and churches in Sri Lanka’s capital and other cities. The explosions killed at least 310 people and left hundreds more injured. Xu and Wu recounted the terrifying attack in an interview with the South China Morning Post.
