Sajid Javid tells tech companies, 'I warned you'
The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport has launched a white paper together with the Home Office in an effort to keep online users safe. As part of the Online Harms White Paper social media companies will have to abide by "duty of care" to protect users. An independent regulator will also be appointed to enforce stringent new standards. Home Secretary Sajid Javid told tech companies: "I warned you and you did not do enough, so it's no longer a matter of choice". Report by Jonesia.
