After all deliberations, Rahul Gandhi decided to contest from Wayanad as it shares borders with 2 other states, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Rahul Gandhi have political strategies choosing Wayanad as the second seat.

लोकसभा चुनाव 2019 से पहले कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी का वायनाड सीट से चुनाव लड़ने के फैसले के बाद सियासत गर्मा गई है । बीजेपी ने तंज कसते हुए राहुल गांधी को हार के डर की वजह से वायनाड सीट को चुनने की बात कही तो वहीं कांग्रेस इसे दक्षिण भारत में पार्टी को मजबूती देने की बात कर रहे ।
