Two of President Moon Jae-in's nominees for minister jobs are no longer in the running... because of alleged ethical lapses.
It's the first time President Moon's nominations have fallen through.
His nominee for science minister, Cho Dong-ho, had been criticized in his confirmation hearing for taking part in a scientific conference... organized by a publishing company, OMICS International, widely believed to be fraudulent or even criminal.
A senior Blue House secretary said the president thought the nominee would not meet the expectations of the people.
The nominee for transport minister, Choi Jeong-ho, voluntarily withdrew his own nomination after facing criticism for alleged property speculation.
