Korea's online retail sales up 12% y/y in February: Trade Ministry
  • 5 years ago
Online retail sales increased in Korea last month... mainly due to more people buying products related to fine dust.
According to the Trade Ministry on Thursday, online retail sales went up by 12-percent on-year in February.
The ministry attributed the rise to an increase in sales of home appliances such as air purifiers.
On the other hand, the nation's overall retail sales dropped by 0-point-4 percent.
This comes after offline retailers saw sales fall by more than 7-percent.
People spent less money in large markets last month compared to the year before... because the Lunar New Year holidays fell more than a week earlier in 2019.
