The Election Commission (EC) has clarified that no new beneficiaries can be added under the PM-Kisan scheme post the model code of conduct coming into effect. CNBC-TV18 learns that in light of the clarifications coming in from the EC, a large chunk of the Rs 20,000 crore allocated to the cash transfer scheme for the current fiscal may remain unused, reports Sapna Das.
