Be that as it may, ship administrator Sado Steam Ship Co said the jetfoil ship still achieved its proposed goal on the island, situated off the west shoreline of Japan's principle island of Honshu.

The ship, which withdrew from Honshu's Niigata Port, was conveying 121 travelers and four team individuals.

The reason for the mishap was under scrutiny by coast protect authorities, who said the ship may have struck a whale or some other ocean creature.

Minke and humpback whales are allegedly relocating through the Sea of Japan during this season.
