A former terrorists and his three-year-old son from Jammu and Kashmir were shot dead at the residence in Sopore area of Baramulla district on Friday reportedly by a group of militants.

The minor, named Burhan was resting in his father’s lap when the suspected terrorists opened fire at them after storming their house.

The father-son duo succumbed to the injuries after receiving bullet shots. While the father died while he was being shifted to hospital last night, the boy passed away on Saturday morning.

According to the sources, 36-year-old Bashir Ahmad Bhat was associated with some terror organizations almost 15 years ago; however he was reported of living an independent life now and ran a small business in Sopore. He left militancy after serving a prison term, reports said.
