Onion prices hit 2-year high, arrivals drop 80%

The onion is back & how. A bad monsoon has forced prices through the roof, and managed to ruffle the government. Here's the bad news first - over the last few days onion prices have shot through the roof. At lasongaon - India's biggest onion mandi wholesale prices have crossed 50 Rs per kilo a two year high. And now for more bad news - a study by assocham warns that below average rainfall could exacerbate troubles and onion proices could reach all times high.
