The Narendra Modi government's interlocutor for talks with NSCN has written to the Union Home Ministry clarifying that the ceasefire agreement remains the same as signed in 1997 and status quo can be maintained in its implementation. The MHA had asked the Naga interlocutor about the terms of the agreement signed between the government and the outfit on a plea of the Indian army. The army which is responsible for the implementation of the ceasefire on the ground had written to the ministry seeking clarity on the implications of the fresh pact.
