Rahul Gandhi and Smriti Irani were locked in a slanging match after the Congress vice-president's criticism of the ban on an IIT-Madras study group followed by protests by NSUI provoked the HRD minister into an angry outburst.
Rahul waded into the controversy triggered by the temporary ban, saying, "IIT student group banned for criticizing Modi government. What next? Free speech is our right, we will fight any attempt to crush dissent and debate."
