About 35,000 guests from across the country and abroad are set to gather at the wedding on Wednesday of chief minister Harish Rawat's daughter in Haldwani. Policemen are on their toes, making special bandobast.
Ten DSPs, five companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary and 250 constables will be deployed for the event. CCTV cameras, motion detectors, metal detectors, X-Ray scanner, dog squad, bomb squad, patrolling parties - these are all in place. "All requisite security arrangements are in place. We are leaving no stone unturned," said Santhil Abudai, senior superintendent of police, Nainital.
