Nation at 9: Should the Modi government ignore its ally and go ahead with Hindu return plan?

The Mufti govt's pusillanimous u-turn on rehabilitation of Jammu and Kashmir Pandits completes another round of capitulation to extremists in the valley. It has empowered the fringe - and disappointed the 56000 Kashmiri Pandit families that await justice 24 years after they were dispossesed. The Mufti govt's stand saddens - but doesn't shock anymore. But what does is the coming together of the nc and the cong with the pdp to echo traitors - and toe their line. Lets be clear - PM Modi's push for the Pandit's return to the valley was the first concrete step towards their physical rehabilitation. By pursuing narrow political ends - the Mufti govt has not only missed a historic opportunity, but also compounded the tragedy for his state's dispossessed.
