3 Goa MLAs finally pay up for football WC tour

Three out of four legislators from Goa have finally paid up the bill of their junket for the Fifa World Cup 2014 after their efforts to resist clearing of dues drew severe flak from media.

While state Fisheries minister Avertano Furtado, BJP legislator Glenn Ticlo and independent MLA Benjamin Silva have paid Rs 15 lakh each to the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) for the trip, another BJP MLA, Carlose Almeida, has sought more time to settle his dues.
