After the Anti-Corruption Bureau raid on Rakshabandhan, the DCW is complaining of a black Diwali thanks to LG Najeeb Jung. Member secretary Alka Diwan, appointed by the LG, has allegedly stopped the disbursement of salaries of DCW staff. The commission says more than 50 contractual workers including acid attack victims and orphans haven't been paid for two months now. And they might be forced to shut down 181 helplines and rape crisis cells. DCW chief Swati Maliwal says Diwan disobeys decisions and attacks the commission's autonomy.
