Sudipto Sen-led chit fund company Saradha Group has funded Islamists in Bangladesh. Rooted through Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Ahmad Hassan Imran, a lion share of the chit fund money reached Bangladesh-based terror outfit Jamaat-e-Islami.
Leading Bengali daily Anandabazar Patrika in a report titled ‘Jamaatera Santraso Saradhar Taka’ (Saradha’s money in Jamaat’s terror) said a huge amount of chit fund money was reached Jamaat-e-Islami and its front organisations in between 2012 and 2013 — channeled through TMC MP Ahmad Hassan Imran — to trigger anarchy in Bangladesh.
It is to recall that Islamists led by Jamaat-e-Islami unleashed a reign of terror in Bangladesh after Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League Government opened the Pandora of War Crimes trial.
