Railway minister’s son denies cheating charge

Karthik Gowda, who appeared before police on Friday after evading them for two weeks, was grilled for more than 10 hours regarding the complaint filed by an actress accusing him of kidnapping, marrying by force and raping her.
The son of railway minister DV Sadananda Gowda was quizzed by police at their interrogation centre in Madiwala from 11 am. The questioning went on till late night and will continue on Saturday.
According to sources, Karthik denied all charges, saying that he knew the complainant but did not marry or cheat her.
To avoid the media, Karthik, who received anticipatory bail earlier this week, appeared before DCP-North T Suresh at 6.30am. "We took him to Dr B R Ambedkar Hospital for procedural medical checkup, after which he was taken to the interrogation centre," Suresh said.
