Fighting the worst floods in last 60 years in Jammu and Kashmir region, Army Chief Dalbir Singh Suhag and General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command Lt Gen DS Hooda had informed of continuing the rescue operation until each one stranded there is pulled out.

“Soldiers would not return to barracks until last man is helped,” the Army Chief said comforting the people of the state. “Our rescue efforts 'Megh Rahat' will continue till everyone is pulled out & rescued. We are looking at 4-5 days to restore connectivity upto Srinagar and also Reasi,” he added.
