4 youths hijack Srinagar-bound taxi, J&K police sound alert

Ahead of the Independence Day celebrations, the Jammu Kashmir Police have sounded an alert against four unidentified youth who hijacked a Srinagar-bound taxi and drove towards the Valley after tying the driver to a tree near Ramban along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway on Tuesday.

Confirming the incident, Doda range DIG Ashkoor Ahmed Wani said police across the state have been alerted against the hijackers and efforts are on to trace the taxi.
