AIBA: Indian participation not guaranteed

The uncertainty over Indian boxer's participation in the forthcoming Asian Games notwithstanding, the contingent is working hard to keep themselves battle ready and hope that the world body will take a lenient view for the sake of the boxers.
Mirror had reported on Wednesday that the International Boxing Association (AIBA) does "not guarantee the participation of Indian boxers (in Asian Games)" if Boxing India fails to conduct elections before August 15.
"It would completely demoralise the boxers if AIBA refuses to allow our boxers to participate in the Asian Games. This would be a big blow to boxing in India," India's chief coach GS Sandhu told.
