A book for a book? That should be the course if Congress President Sonia Gandhi goes ahead with what she said on Thursday. Reacting to her estranged confidant Natwar Singh's claim in his about-to-be-released autobiography that Gandhi had turned down the post of the prime ministership in 2004 because she was forced to do so by her son Rahul who feared for her life, she said she would write her own book to let everyone know "the real truth".

"I will write my own book and then everyone will know the truth. The only way the truth will come out is if I write. I am serious about this," Sonia Gandhi said when reporters asked for her response to Singh's narration of the events. However, Gandhi did not go into the specifics of Singh's narration.
