A couple from the North-East was allegedly attacked by four men on Sunday in Nathupur, Gurgaon.
The incident occurred late on Sunday evening, just days after a Manipuri man was found murdered in New Delhi's Kotla Mubarakpur.
Television reports said the assailants in the Sunday attack were armed with knives. The couple was rushed to a hospital in Gurgaon.
Following the previous incident, Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju described the attack on a native of the northeast as "serious and disturbing", and assured a thorough probe into the case.
