Mamata Banerjee cosies up to left leaders to counter BJP

Mamata Banerjee gave Left leaders the impression that she was desperately trying to thwart the growth of BJP in West Bengal and that she had tried her best to frustrate the saffron brigade's electoral success in the state in the recent Lok Sabha elections.
This is the first time since 2011 that the chief minister agreed to meet a Left delegation led by CPIM's Biman Bose at Nabanya on Monday. The delegation had gone simply to appeal to the chief minister to stop the killings taking place in the post-poll phase where Trinamool supporters were targeting CPIM workers.
