RWA defends it's action, stays defiant

Akshat Singhal went out to play cricket in his neighbourhood park in the evening and never came back. The 14-year-old was electrocuted while trying to step over a barbed wire that elders in the society had tied across the entrance to "keep dogs out". The other three gates were all locked up to deter children from playing ball games that sometimes resulted in injury to the park's other users.

The accident occurred on Saturday evening at Sanjay Park in New Govindpuri. Police said the residents had strung a barbed wire between an electric pole in the park and the grille and while Akshat's friends managed to enter the park unharmed, he touched the wire and got electrocuted.
