Amit Shah to be named BJP president by Sunday

BJP General Secretary and close Narendra Modi confidant Amit Shah appeared on Wednesday as all but certain to be anointed the next party president, with a broad consensus on his name seemingly in place and Sangh parivar fountainhead RSS also agreeing to his elevation.
At least four people in the party and the RSS said Shah's name has been cleared and he could be declared party president very soon. One person said the decision could be announced as early as June 30, although others played down that date, saying there were no preparations underway so far for a grand show that would accompany a coronation exercise.
