The AAP on Thursday questioned Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung's decision to send a government team to Gujarat to study the state's model for cleaning rivers and replicate it in Delhi, saying the "ill-timed move will further the political agenda of the BJP".

Criticising the move, the Aam Aadmi Party said that the visit "which will be of no help to the people of Delhi, could have been postponed as the city is faced with power cuts, water shortage and even disruption in Metro services".

A Delhi government team comprising top bureaucrats has been sent to study the feasibility of replicating the model of the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Project for cleaning the Yamuna.
