Mayawati demands strict probe in Badau case

The gang rape and murder of two cousins in Badaun has assumed political overtones with Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati, demanding President's rule in the State.
Ms. Mayawati demanded a CBI enquiry into the incident and said the rape and murder of the two cousins belonging to the "Shakya backward caste" have sparked off a wave of anger in the State.
"I reiterate my demand made to the Governor that he should recommend imposition of President's rule in the State without any further delay," she told reporters here.
