For the first time in over six months, Muzaffarnagar riot victims staying in relief camps at Loi returned home at Fugana village to vote in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections on Thursday. Security forces escorted Muslim families to a polling booth in Fugana village. This was the first time in over six months when riot victims returned to their homes.

Similarly, at Bibipur Hatiya village in Kairana district, security forces helped almost 100 families living in relief camps to exercise their franchise. At Barnavi village, 100 families voted and so did were given the opportunity to vote while the 150 families at Akbarpur Suneti.
