After fuelling last week with much speculations, the BJP and the LJP have finally sealed an alliance with BJP party president Rajnath Singh welcoming Ram Vilas Paswan to the NDA fold. "Ram Vilas Paswan has decided that the LJP will be a part of the NDA. I wholeheartedly welcome him and his party to the NDA," Rajnath Singh said after a meeting with the LJP leader at his residence. Rajnath Singh and Ram Vilas Paswan share sweets after confirming their alliance. PTI Singh said, "Paswan realised that only the NDA can take the country out of its misery. I welcome his move to join us." He also said that Dalit leaders across the country were approaching the NDA. "Everyone wants Narendra Modi to be PM," he said, adding, "The BJP has agreed to give LJP seven out of 40 Lok Sabha seats at stake in Bihar." In a politically significant gesture, senior BJP leaders from Bihar Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Shahnawaz Hussain went to Paswan's residence in the afternoon to hold consultations with him. Soon after, Bihar LJP president Pashupati Kumar Paras and party Parliamentary Board chairman Chirag Paswan met BJP leaders Dharmendra Pradhan, Bihar BJP chief Mangal Pandey, its leader in state assembly Nand Kishore Yadav and senior leader Sushil Kumar Modi.
