The UP government on Wednesday suspended the state's sports director Shailesh Kumar Singh with immediate effect for what has been described as hindrances in execution of projects at the sports complex in Saifai (Etawah) and other schemes.The charges levelled at Singh relate to the construction of a world class swimming pool at the sports complex in Saifai, the native village of SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. Sources said that CM Akhilesh Yadav was expecting the swimming pool to be ready for inauguration before the Saifai Mahotsava—a week-long annual extravaganza organized by the SP—which is to begin from December 26, 2013.
