A day after Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi made an unannounced visit to riot-hit Muzaffarnagar and Shamli districts in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday criticised him and claimed that those living in the relief camps were not riot victims.
"They are inciting people to remain in the relief camps. Congressmen visit the camps at night and mislead the people. They are conspirators. Nobody living in the relief camp is a riot victim. They just want it to remain an issue till the elections," said Mulayam. "At the relief camps, the Congress leaders said everything was fine. But they later told the media something else," he added.
