India Debate: Has opportunity to expand Constitutional values been lost after today's verdict?

The supreme court today decided to leave to the parliament the tricky question of decriminalising homosexuality. It's reasoning was that it is the Parliament's perogative to legislate.

There are many social conservatives who agree with this view. But there is a moot point that needs to be considered. What if tomorrow the Parliament decided to strike down urdu as a language? Who can those most affected by this ruling turn to if not the Supreme Court?
