Unbearable stench and heaps of hazardous biomedical waste greet one outside most government and private hospitals in and around Kolkata.
Nearly 1500 hospitals both government and private in and around Kolkata are now paying the price for a labour unrest that is brewing within the agency entrusted with the job of collecting bio-hazardous waste from these hospitals.
Workers are hurriedly putting bundles of waste in open trucks sourced from private transporters after a gap of four days.
