MI-17 Chopper crashes in Gaurikund in Uttarakhand

NewsX: An Mi-17 Rescue chopper of the IAF has crashed in Gaurikhand in Uttarakhand. The chopper was ferrying stranded people from Kedarnath.
Initial reports say that many are being feared dead in the accident. Despite the inclement weather, IAF is under pressure to operate rescue sorties. Weather in Uttarakhand has not been conducive to flying since Sunday. Those feared killed include two pilots and crew, and relief workers on board.
The Mi-17 V-5 is a recently acquired medium-lift chopper from Russia which is capable of flying at high altitudes. It's been the workhorse of the IAF's disaster relief operations
