Hilly areas of Uttarakhand witnessed a sudden dip in temperatures with high-altitude spots such as Hemkund Sahib, which opened on Monday itself, receiving snow in the morning. There was widespread rain in the lower reaches as well, bringing much needed respite from hot conditions.
