A major setback for BJP, with it being pushed to the third place. JD(S) has sprung a real surprise emerging as the strong second party ahead of BJP. Though Yeddyurppa's KJP leads in just a handful of seats, it is evident that it has dealt a severe body blow on the BJP. Total of 3000 candidates are contesting for 223 seats in the Karnataka assembly polls.
