Police have found that the bike was originally bought from Chennai. It has Tamil Nadu registration number TN 22 R 3769. News X tracked down the former owner of the bike. A retired telephone officer of BSNL, sold the bike to a local mechanic 4-5 years back at a throw away price. He however, did not get the bike re-registered.
