Here's a shocker from Punjab. A woman in Ludhiana was beaten black and blue for demanding her own rightful money. 32-year-old Geeta was brutally beaten by miscreants in full public view on April 3. Shockingly, cops refused to register the case, even after the victim produced a video recording of the incident. It was only after she ran pillar-to post and then approached the police commissioner for justice that police swung into action. Now a case has been finally registered. A resident of Nehru Nagar, Geeta had lent an amount of Rs 20,000 to an acquaintance Manoj who was hesitant to pay back. When she asked him to return money, Manoj thrashed her with his friends.
