Beni Prasad-Mulayam Singh war of words

A sulking Congress minister Beni Prasad Verma today refused to apologise for his remarks about SP president Mulayam Singh. Even as angry activists of the SP burnt his effigies in Uttar Pradesh. Verma today kept away from a key Cabinet meeting even as his party tried to make amends. Soon after Lok Sabha was adjourned Kamalnath tried to broker peace between the two leaders. Congress spokesperson Janardhan Dwivedi also asked Beni Prasad to check his language. Earlier today, Lok Sabha witnessed an uproar as Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav raised objection on Union Minister Beni Prasad Verma's offensive remark about him. Beni had called Mulayam a supporter of terrorists. SP Chief Mulayam sought an apology from the Union Minister in the house today. SP members also demanded that Beni Prasad be sacked.
