Anti-rape bill: All-party meet in capital today

An all-party meeting on the contentious issue of anti-rape law has begun in the national capital and its outcome will determine the fate of the bill to amend criminal laws aimed at effectively countering sexual violence against women. The govt is racing against time and it has merely four working days to get the criminal laws (amendment) bill. The govt on last Tuesday deferred clearing the anti-rape law that will replace the ordinance issued last month and constituted an empowered group of ministers (EGoM) to take a final view on the proposed Bill.
