DRDO proposes missile range at Rutland Island in Andaman

Defence Research and Development Organisation proposes missile range at Rutland Island in the Andaman and Nicobar. Missile Range mooted on forest land. Antony tells Parliament that missile range to be set up subject to environment clearance. DRDO seeks another missile range at Nagayalanka in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh: land acquisition initiated by Andhra Government. So far, India tests missiles from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in the Balasore district of Orissa, and from pontoons off Andhra Pradesh.
