No end to the rape horror engulfing the nation despite the advent of a strict anti-rape ordinance. Notwithstanding the agony of rape, the apathy the rape survivors face at the hands of the police will make one wonder the efficacy of such laws, if the police are not keen on implementing them.Similarly, there has been no end to the rape shame in Jalandhar. In the rape a minor dalit girl in Madala Channa village in Jalandhur, police have swing into action only after the SC/ST commission's vice-chairperson Raj Kumar Berka sought a probe report within a week. The intervention of the SC/ST commission had risen, after the survivors kin alleged that the police was actually threatening them instead of nabbing the culprits. The condition of the minor girl is said to be serious.
