Gadkari faces dissidence over 2nd term as BJP president

Recently, Gadkari weathered a political storm partly triggered by charges of irregularities in a firm owned by him. Observers say it is the blessing of the Sangh Parivar that helped Gadkari sail through a storm against his leadership. Advani did made known his displeasure over a second term for Gadkari at the Mumbai National Executive in May last year. The National Council formally endorsed it at its Surajkund session in September.
