As Gujarat gears up to go for the second phase of polls on December 17, today is the last day for the candidates to campaign and woo the voters. Realising that time is of great essence, all the three major parties - that is the BJP, the GPP and the Congress have pulled out all fullstops on the last day of the campaign. The second and final phase of the Gujarat election is scheduled on December 17. Ninety-five constituencies, including Maninagar from where Modi is contesting, will go to the elections on that day. In the second and last phase, votes will be cast for 95 Assembly constituencies on December 17 to elect the winners from amongst 820 candidates. A total of 1.99 crore voters are eligible to cast their vote in the second phase at 23,318 polling stations. Counting of votes polled in both the phases will be done on December 20 and the results will be declared the same day.
